The Afghan Daily Outlook reported that on January 27, a spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Afghanistan said that in the past 20 days, Pakistan had imposed new regulations on the import of cotton from Afghanistan and suspended the import of cotton from Afghanistan. The spokesman promised that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry would soon resolve the issue. It is reported that Afghanistan produces more than 60,000 kilograms of cotton every year, most of which are exported to Pakistan.
