On January 10, the launching meeting of the 13th Five-Year National Key Research and Development Program "Efficient Cultivation Technology of Larix kaempferi" led by the Forestry Institute was held in Beijing. Du Jishan, deputy director of the Science and Technology Department of the State Forestry Administration, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Experts from Beijing Forestry University, Northeast Forestry University and Hebei Agricultural University were invited to demonstrate the implementation plans of each sub-project. Zhang Jianguo, director of the Forestry Institute, presided over the meeting. Du Jishan pointed out that larch is the main timber tree species in China.Each research team should concentrate its superior strength, break through the key technologies affecting the yield and quality of plantations, integrate major scientific research achievements, and successfully complete the task. Zhang Shougong, the project leader, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of the Chinese Academy of Forestry, introduced the research tasks and basic implementation of the project. The leaders of each sub-project reported in detail from the aspects of project objectives, assessment indicators, research contents, technical routes, implementation plans and research progress in 2017. The expert group conducted in-depth demonstration and exchange on the rationality, feasibility and foresight of the implementation plan, and put forward specific suggestions and suggestions for improvement. Wang Junhui, Director of Science and Technology Department, put forward specific requirements on the organization and management of the project and the output of major achievements. More than 30 people from the Forestry Institute, Liaoning Academy of Forestry Sciences, Hubei Academy of Forestry Sciences and Xiaolongshan Forestry Experimental Bureau of Gansu Province participated in the meeting.
