On January 19, the 2017 Annual Progress Summary Meeting of the 13th Five-Year National Key Research and Development Project "Key Physiological Ecology and Environmental Control Mechanism for the Formation of Plantation Productivity" was held in Beijing under the auspices of the Forest Environment and Forest Protection Institute of the Chinese Academy of Forestry. Xiao Wenfa, the project leader and vice president of the Chinese Academy of Forestry, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Xiao Wenfa made a general report on the basic situation of the subject. Seven sub-project leaders reported on the progress of their work in 2017 and the next research plan one by one.Participants discussed and exchanged views on the issues and future plans mentioned in the report, and proposed that the research content of each topic should be closely centered on the formation of plantation productivity. Xiao Wenfa stressed that the leaders of each topic should seriously summarize the issues raised in this meeting, strengthen the exchanges and contacts between sub-topics, focus on the task objectives of the topic, and make a good plan for the next step. At the same time, we should publicize the achievements in a timely manner through various channels to enhance the influence.

Since the start of the project, each sub-project has been carried out in an orderly manner in accordance with the requirements of the task book: data observation and investigation of experimental plots; research on the impact and mechanism of different environmental factors (water, fertilizer, heat, etc.) On the formation process of productivity of Pinus massoniana and Eucalyptus; research on the response mechanism of larch to different site conditions; The effects of nitrogen deposition and phosphorus addition on photosynthesis, stoichiometry and rhizosphere nutrient distribution characteristics of Cunninghamia lanceolata were simulated, and five homogeneous orchards of Cunninghamia lanceolata, Pinus massoniana, Schima superba, Alnus cremastogyne and Cinnamomum camphora were established and the basic data were observed. With the joint efforts of various topics, it has achieved phased results, published 10 papers, including 4 SCI papers, and initially built 4 experimental plots. More than 20 people attended the meeting, including Wang Xiaoyi, deputy director of the Forest Environmental Protection Institute, project team managers, sub-project leaders and major academic backbones.
